Vermont Lutheran Church’s cemetery includes a Veterans Memorial section next to the Gathering Place. Markers in the Memorial commemorate Vermont Church members who fought for their country beginning with the Civil War through the Vietnam War. Soon, another large marble slab will be added with the names of those who have fought in the Gulf War and Beyond. The flags remain on the graves year round. The Cemetery Association makes an annual donation to the American Legion Post 313, in Black Earth, to help defray the cost of the flags.
